Fall Family Fun: Farmland Adventures

Oct 13, 2020

It’s finally Fall! I don’t know about you, but to us, it seemed like an endless Summer. We couldn’t be more excited about the start of the new season and all that comes with it. In this blog post, we chose to feature Farmland Adventures, a local hot spot for Fall festivities!

To give you a little history, Farmland Adventures was started by the Parsons Family, who is the 5th generation to work and grow this tract of land! Talk about a family business! When starting Farmland, their goal was to make each guest’s visit engaging, educational, and a ton of fun! In 2011 they decided to transform a section of their farm into a new attraction featuring a corn maze, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, kids’ play area, and even pony rides! Sounds awesome, right? We think so!

Check out some of the amazing attractions they feature below.

Corn Maze

Each year the Parsons Family and staff create a giant maze spanning 9 acres. Don’t rely on your memory from last year’s visit as they redesign the course every year. In the maze, you’ll find twisting paths, questions/riddles, and even picture rubbings! Yes, it’s a maze, but they want it to be educational and interactive for all.

Thinking the 9-acre maze may be too overwhelming for your little ones? Not to worry, they have a kid-friendly maze as well.

If you afraid you’ll still get lost regardless of the size? You can follow yourself through the puzzle with their Maze Tracker Mobile App.

Lastly, If you’re a big fan of corn labyrinths and want more of a challenge, then join them for Flashlight nights, a unique event hosted under the stars!

Pony Rides

Pony rides are a guaranteed hit for the little ones and the best part is included with your admission to the farm! Keep in mind that Pony rides are only available for kids under 80 lbs and 4ft tall.

Pumpkin Patch

Come pick out your Halloween gourd in the Farmland Adventures pumpkin patch! Trust us; it’s not too late to carve your pumpkin and set it out on the porch for Halloween. What a fun activity with the little ones! Cut the pumpkin, scoop the goo:)

Petting Zoo

The petting zoo features animals of all shapes and sizes! Staff members love to share their passion and knowledge on the various breeds so make sure to ask questions while you are there. It’s important to note that animals will rotate throughout the season, depending on weather conditions and other circumstances. Are you visiting Farmland Adventures on a rainy day? Please note that all animals will be under shelter and not available for petting.  Petting the critters in the rain leads to bad hair days:)

Pig Races

Ever experienced good ole’ fashioned  Pig Races? During select Fall hours, you can watch the pigs race to glory around the track. Root for your favorite pig to win because according to Farmland Adventures, the more you cheer, the faster they run. Call ahead to make sure you know when the races are scheduled as this event is held during select hours during the week and weekend.

They are continually adding new attractions like pedal karts, human foosball, and even roping and riding areas. They hope to keep expanding their family activities throughout the coming years to make it even more of an all-encompassing fall destination.

Doesn’t it just sound like the perfect Fall weekend? We couldn’t agree more! Click here to see their current hours of operation or to buy tickets to the farm.

Your New Career Path is Waiting For You

Aug 27, 2020

Northwest Arkansas School of Real Estate has helped Arkansans navigate their career path since 1999, having 2,142 students who’ve completed the program. You may be thinking, why Real Estate and why NWARES?

Here are some significant factors that we believe set us apart from the competition.

Our Staff

Luther Keeling, head instructor and current REALTOR ®, has been in the Real Estate business since 1994. He is a member of the Northwest Arkansas Board of REALTORS ®, the Arkansas Realtors Association, and even the National Association of Realtors. In 2003 Luther decided to get his brokerage license; this, along with other achievements, helped him reach the Arkansas Million Dollar Award.

As a Rogers Native, Luther is the perfect person to advise on past and future trends given his history with this ever-growing community.

Our Approach

Luther doesn’t just read the textbook aloud; he relates every practice from the book to a real-world scenario that he and his network have and continue to experience. This provides students with a more realistic approach to navigating various circumstances and gives them the tools needed to immediately succeed in their new real estate career.

We Treat You Like Family

Luther teaches in an intimate setting with his students and personally gets to know each one of them. This makes the long days of classes more enjoyable as your classmates and teacher feel less like acquaintances and more like family.

Making a career change is a big decision. We hope that we make it a smooth transition for you by giving you the support you need to succeed. Whether you’re in a career you love or in the process of finding out what’s next for your life, we urge you to consider a career in Real Estate!

Our Friends Next Door

Aug 13, 2020

It was not a stroke of luck that landed our new Gallery Office in such a strategic location. It was, well, strategy!

Our goal is to represent the essence and heart of Northwest Arkansas while positioning Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette as the guiding ambassador to the area. We want to leave our mark, becoming inseparably but also subtly associated with it. We also intend to get away from the image of a typical real estate office. This office looks towards a more modern gallery-style interior that doesn’t sacrifice warmth and welcome for a sleek look. This space should exude a retail experience that draws the passer-by into the doors to explore our offerings.

This space will go beyond working hours to double as a venue open to both internal and external events. Our main goal is community engagement. Hosting events for nonprofits, partnering with other local businesses, and establishing a presence during city events are three significant ways we plan to achieve this goal. We want to develop connections, draw people to Northwest Arkansas, and help guide them home.

We hope to develop these connections by using our prime location to partner and interact with the significant Northwest Arkansas businesses that surround our building. Being a part of this community means interacting with those who play an integral role in its culture and development.

We have the pleasure of being surrounded by companies who not only make the Bentonville Square what is, but whose missions inspire us.

Let’s Meet Some Of Our Neighbors!

Kyya Chocolate is the first bean-to-bar chocolate company in Arkansas. This means they specialize in small-batch chocolate. This process helps them maximize the flavor of each cacao bean. To their left is the Walmart Museum, This is an essential part of the history of Walmart. It first opened back in 1990 and was known as the visitors center for locals and those visiting from out of state. Lastly, to the left of them is the Spark Cafe, which just had its grand re-opening this afternoon. Created in memoriam of Sam Walton and his love of Ice cream, this quaint shop is sure to meet all your sweet tooth needs.

If you speak with anyone who has lived in Northwest Arkansas, they will tell you that local businesses’ culture is a critical feature in what makes this area so unique. As a real estate company specializing in coming alongside those who wish to make Northwest Arkansas home, we cannot wait to explore the opportunities of our new location as they present themselves.

Top 5 Places to Visit in Siloam Springs

Jul 22, 2020

To us, there’s nothing better than taking weekend road trips to the quaint towns and attractions throughout Arkansas. Like many Arkansans, supporting local establishments and enjoying all that our state has to offer is important. That’s why we decided to dig deeper into one of our state’s gems, Siloam Springs.

Officially incorporated in 1881, Siloam Springs was a popular spot for pioneers to stop due to its’ healing springs water in Sager Creek. This discovery brought notoriety and state-wide acclaim and continues to attract tourists year-round.

To get a better understanding of what makes the town so unique, we asked members of our Siloam Springs Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney and Faucette Real Estate team. Below are their votes for the Top 5 places to visit in Siloam.

Siloam Springs Kayak Park

Close up of a man holding a kayak paddle at sunset.

The newest addition, and quite possibly the most popular tourist attraction to Siloam Springs, is Kayak Park. Situated on the Illinois River just 4 miles south of town this adventurous amenity is just waiting for you to explore!  Not only does the park boast thrilling water activities, but it also has many relaxing areas for all age groups. Due to COVID-19 the park is temporarily closed, but here are rules to take notes of before you visit:

  •     A floatable device (kayak, canoe, or tube) is required to ride the rapids as well as a life jacket in the park.
  •     No alcohol is permitted at the park. However, non-alcoholic beverages and food may be consumed outside of the water as there is no concession.

Natural Falls State Park

Ozark waterfall in Arkansas

Although not located within the city limits of Siloam Springs, this state park is situated right across the Arkansas-Oklahoma border in West Siloam Springs. This park features a 77-foot waterfall, various hiking trails, yurts to camp in, and plenty of nature to explore. Dripping Springs has a history that’s rich and full of adventure, including being a source of water for townsfolk, shelter for Native American Indians as well as soldiers during the Civil War. Learn more about the park and its’ endless amenities here.

Fratelli’s Wood-Fried Pizzeria

Walking into Fratelli’s and taking in the smell of freshly made wood-fired pizza, it’s no wonder it’s a local favorite. Nestled in the middle of downtown Siloam Springs, Fratelli’s, offers an intimate dining atmosphere close to all the local action. If you aren’t too stuffed from your meal make sure to try their Gelato, it’s a must-have fan-favorite menu item. Check out their complete menu by clicking here.

Pure Joy Ice Cream

While traveling across the state, you’re bound to stumble upon many local creameries, Siloam Springs isn’t an exception. Just off of Main Street you’ll find Pure Joy Ice Cream and boy do their delicious flavors make you feel pure joy. This small-batch naturally crafted ice cream was founded in 2011 and sources all ingredients from local farmers and producers, making the flavors rich and unique. City Lake Park

Group of athletes mountain biking on a forest trail, mountain bike race

This 65-acre city park has been in the works for two decades and has become a premier nature destination for hikers, bikers, and bird watchers alike. The trail system includes various levels of terrain, providing a space for beginner, intermediate and expert bikers. Visitors can learn multiple biking disciplines on the skills course, pump track, and flow trails. Given the current conditions, the city is asking park goers to be mindful of others when using paths and to please follow the National Recreation and Park Association’s recommendations on social distancing minimums.

Sounds fun, right? We hope you take your next free weekend or day off to explore all of the fun activities Siloam Springs has to offer.  If you want to learn more about Siloam from a local expert, click here or call them directly at (479) 439-5044.

Exclusive Designer’s Look: The New Gallery Office

Jul 10, 2020

*Photos by Alex Boyd

We’ve had a lot of questions regarding our process with designing our new Gallery Office. We thought we’d sit down with lead designer Abby Redmon with Goddard Design and ask her some of your burning questions! Hopefully this insight will give you a more intimate look at this passion project for our community and our agents.

Tell us a little bit about Goddard Design Group. What do you guys hope to bring to your clients, and what were some hopes you had for this project specifically?

Goddard Design Group is a full service interior design firm that focuses on experiential design. Every sense is affected in an interior space and we strive to design spaces where the experience is the story the client wants to tell. We wanted to create an exclusive experience for Coldwell Banker. One that sets you all apart from any other real estate office or community space in the area which creates strong brand identity for you and is also a conversation starter. We also hoped to create a space that would further integrate the community relationships by creating a venue like space where people could host events and invite people into the home of Coldwell Banker .”

What was your approach to the empty canvas? What were some of your first thoughts during the brainstorming process?

“In my own design process, I look to tell the story first and foremost and fit the function within that story so it’s a seamless functional space as an end result. We needed to provide a place for the Coldwell Banker team to work, space for visitors to relax, a small communal kitchenette area, all while creating an experience to weave Coldwell Banker‘s mark into the community of Northwest Arkansas.”

What were some key aspects or design patterns you tried to stick to throughout the process and why?

“I wanted the space to feel warm and casual, a place people would want to spend time in but also a place that isn’t easily forgettable. On a downtown square, people aren’t always out looking for a specific product or service, so even if someone walks into the gallery not interested in purchasing or selling a home, the experience of the space will be so memorable that it’s the first place they think of when they’re ready for a buying or selling experience. “

What lead you to the decision to include other artists, such as the mural in the back? What do you think this says about the collaboration inherent to our community?

“From the beginning, it was important to tell the story of Coldwell Banker in the communities of Northwest Arkansas, so weaving authentic and native elements into the space was imperative to conveying the depth and richness of the relationship that Coldwell Banker has in our area. Tiger Sasha created the amazing mural wall. We did some brainstorming and decided to take inspiration from the Ozark Mountains for this back of the space. You can see the mountains and his signature Russian doll in the mural. It’s one of my favorite parts of the whole space! We also worked with Roark Group on the listing display wall, spinning block wall, and custom map island. They have amazing product designers on staff that I worked with to tell the story even in the materials we used. The raw timber of the listing display wall is Arkansas Pine and we used milled pine for the block wall as well.”

Now that the office is finished, what do you hope it brings to the community?

“My hope is that this space brings a unique, exclusive experience for Coldwell Banker’s clients and team that creates stronger bonds between agent and client, Coldwell Banker and NWA community, and among the Coldwell Banker teams in Bentonville, Rogers, and Fayetteville. Spaces are where we live our lives and create relationships and memories. My hope is that this space will provide special experiences to enhance the way Coldwell Banker guides Northwest Arkansas home. “

We want to thank Abby of Goddard Design for sharing her insight on this incredible design. We hope that this behind the scenes look has given you insight into our passion and dedication to this space, one that we hope you will enjoy when you visit!

Introducing the Gallery in Downtown Bentonville

Jun 22, 2020

Every year, Northwest Arkansans share with excitement all of the top rankings the region receives. Best place to live, the best place to start a business, the most bike-friendly region, the best rock climbing in the Midwest, the fastest-growing city, you name it and Northwest Arkansas has likely been recognized for it. City planners are even brainstorming how to incorporate over one million people in Northwest Arkansas within the next few decades. While we love to share the numbers, Northwest Arkansas is our home not because of its ranking, but because of the people, businesses, and culture that have earned these numbers.

As we interact with our buyers and sellers, we cannot help but realize that these aspects of the area play a very large part in population attraction and retention, as well as the overall happiness of citizens. Therefore, we thought it was important for us to create a community space for our agents, staff, and clients to utilize that highlights and brings life to the uniqueness and diversity of Northwest Arkansas.

We are excited to announce the opening of a Gallery Office

We are excited to announce the opening of a Gallery Office that we believe does just that! The Gallery is centrally located at 113 N. Main Street in Downtown Bentonville. We are next to local superstars such as Onyx Coffee Lab, Kyya Chocolate, Preacher’s Son, and 21c Museum and Hotel. This makes this office a great spot for meetings, events, and a convenient introduction for new Arkansans to learn what makes their new home so great! We worked with local artists, designers, and builders to create a fun community space that elevates the culture and “style” of Northwest Arkansas.

We also hope to take advantage of our incredible location by finding ways to have a positive impact on the community. This space can also serve local businesses who are looking for a convenient and accessible location to host events, charity drives, and other social gatherings. It’s our hope to therefore not only uplift the culture but the people of Northwest Arkansas as well. This is an extension of the arms that we already have within NWA and strengthening our deep roots within this beautiful community.

Next time you’re downtown, day or night, stop in and say hello!

Our Most Summer-Worthy Backyards

Jun 12, 2020

As far as backyards go, beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or, to be more specific, in the hands of the mower). However, some backyards seem to just be begging for epic summer activities.

Here are some incredible spaces from a collection of our Global Luxury listings you sure to love.

11054 N Highway 279, Bentonville

This backyard is reminiscent of royalty. Not only is the large swimming pool center-stage, but it is also surrounded by beautiful plants, making it one of the summer jewels in the crown of this kingly estate. Patio furniture and covered poolside resting spaces give you everything you need to enjoy the summer. Did we forget to mention the gigantic pond that this home rests on? If you get tired of your chlorinated comfort zone, you have 2 acres of additional aquatic adventure at your doorstep.

14427 E Highway 94, Rogers

This is one of the most private summer hotspots you could hope for. The pool packs an enormous punch for its size, with a water slide, diving board, and basketball goal. You might not get a 2-acre pond with this one, but you do get more options, providing a concentrated dose of summer fun! Despite being comfortably enclosed by the walls of your home, the unobstructed view of a gorgeous, uninhabited forest ensures you that you are as alone as you and your guests desire to be.

3481 N Dean Solomon Road, Fayetteville

We brought the jungle paradise to you with this one. Surrounded by lush greenery and exotic potted plants on a poolside paved with pebbles. When you aren’t too busy splashing about with friends and family or enjoying a nice cold drink with your feet in the water, there’s a stunning view mere feet from the poolside that serves to remind you just how beautiful Fayetteville is.

2921 N Dorchester Drive, Fayetteville

This entire home is a summer hosting giant. While we certainly don’t recommend you invite the entire city over for a BBQ, it certainly looks up to the task! An enormous pool, an impressive collection of poolside furniture, and a massive patio space both beneath and on top of the deck dissolve any anxiety over having enough space for summer celebrations.

18348 Oak Ridge Road, Springdale

The real catch for our last backyard is the beautiful stonework and waterfall. The whole aesthetic of this quaint backyard pool space transports you to a resort-level getaway, all in your backyard! Also, not saying you should, but don’t you think that waterfall looks like a mighty fine diving board substitute?

No matter where you live or how you make use of the tools at your disposal, what makes a backyard summer-worthy is the people you invite to share it with you. Kick-off your tennis shoes, slap on some sunscreen, put on a pair of shades that match your swimsuit, and go enjoy the (our opinion) greatest season the year has to offer!

Looking for your summer oasis? Give one of our experienced REALTORS® a call to set up a showing on any of these amazing properties for sale.

Five Reasons to Sell Your Home Right Now

May 22, 2020

Now is not the time to sell.”

”Do it now while interest rates are low!”

”What about the COVID-19 pandemic?”

You’ve probably heard these cautionary tales mixed with some positive information at one point or another. Selling a home is a big deal, and there is a lot of information floating around that is hard to gather into reliable fodder to make a decision. We have gathered the most recent information on the housing market to show you that now, more than ever, is the best time to sell your home. Here are five reasons, coupled with facts, to help put your mind at ease as you consider listing your house.

You Face Very Little Competition

  • The number of houses on the market right now is at a historic low, but potential buyers remain at stable numbers. And to give it some context, we haven’t seen the number of Northwest Arkansas homes for sales this low since the early 1990s! Listing your home right now will put it in front of a sea of people looking for homes, with little to no competing listings coming between you and closing the deal as fast as possible.

More Homes Sold This March-April Than Last Year

  • The market is doing everything but slowing down. This March through April, 1,972 homes were sold which is more than the same time last year. REALTORS® remains busy, and our agents are equipped more than ever to help you safely sell your home fast. The market isn’t slowing down, and neither are we!

Home Sold Faster in March-April 2020 Than 2019

  • Houses on the current market are selling FAST. Data reports that listings spent an astoundingly low average of 64 days on the market this March and April. In comparison, the average number of days on market for this time last year was 77 days. Don’t be afraid of sitting on a listing for months or years at a time, the data is in your favor! The chances are that your listing will be closed in the blink of an eye!

Prices Are Not Dropping

  • Housing prices remain stable due to supply and demand. The moment many homes become available, our agents are having many potential buyers knocking on the door. This demand is reinforced by the drop in several average days a house spends on the market. Another keynote- The current market was not driven by a housing crash like the one in 2008. Due to the lack of competition with other sellers combined with a high number of buyers, listing your home for what it is worth will set you up to get the price you want in a favorable amount of time.
